Alenda Golf
Distance from La Buena Vida: 46 mins
Alenda Golf Club cuts through the rugged terrain of Monforte del Cid, where Roland Favrat's 1999 design harnesses the natural drama of Alicante's landscape. The course unfolds over 6,257 meters, each hole framed by the jagged silhouette of Sierra de las Águilas, with the Mediterranean shimmering on the horizon. The front nine deceives with its generous fairways, where scattered palms and stone pines stand sentinel. But the back nine reveals Favrat's tactical mind—here, precision trumps power as fairways constrict and greens demand finesse. The 18th presents a fitting finale: a sweeping left turn around a crystalline lake that rewards calculated risk.
Beyond the course, Alenda's modern clubhouse serves as both sanctuary and social hub. Its restaurant specializes in regional cuisine, while the practice facilities elevate the everyday routine—particularly the illuminated driving range and the innovative 19th hole, a short-game challenge that keeps players sharp after sunset. For guests staying at La Buena Vida, the experience is seamless—complimentary transfers bridge the 45-minute journey, letting you focus entirely on your game. At €66, the green fee reflects the course's caliber, validated by its selection as host of the Spanish Senior Pro Championship. Here, both casual players and serious competitors find their level among the Alicante highlands.

El Plantío
Distance from La Buena Vida: 55 mins
El Plantío Golf Resort makes ingenious use of its compact 110-acre site. Despite space constraints, the course stretches to an impressive 6,200 meters from the back tees, playing to a par 72. The layout features two returning 9-hole loops, each finishing with a par three beside the clubhouse—a thoughtful design that allows for flexible play options.
Water adds strategic depth throughout the round, particularly on the challenging par-4 10th and 17th holes. The opening hole sets the tone: a par-4 that dogleggs left, with out-of-bounds right and water guarding the green. The front nine concludes memorably at the par-3 9th, where a long, winding bunker defends the putting surface. The back nine's character emerges through left-bending par-5s at the 12th and 15th, culminating in the 182-meter 18th, where birdie opportunities await for those who navigate past the front-left bunker.
The course's environmental commitment shows in its pioneering use of recycled water and careful integration of native and exotic plants, creating distinct settings for each hole. With its location just 54 minutes from La Buena Vida, El Plantío offers extensive practice facilities including a two-tier, 120-bay covered driving range, dedicated short-game areas, and putting greens. An additional 9-hole par-3 course provides perfect warm-up or practice opportunities.
The flat terrain makes for an enjoyable walking course, with only three holes featuring any significant elevation change. While the fairways are generous, the course's length and strategic placement of hazards maintain its challenge. The attached international golf school and comprehensive facilities make El Plantío an ideal destination for both serious golfers and families looking to develop their game.
Review from December 19, 2024
Golferajames | Silver Member | Handicap 8.3 | Rating: 7.8/10
"Nice flat park course that you can easily walk and that is nice. Only 3 holes that are a bit hilly. Great layout with a lot of challenge despite the wide fairways. The length of Geel is almost 6000 meters so not a short course. Greens are fine. Too bad there is a lot of rubbish here and there because there are no bins on the course. Nice terrace at the clubhouse with reasonable quality food."

La Finca Golf
Distance from La Buena Vida: 60 mins
La Finca Golf, which opened in 2002, reflects Spanish amateur champion Pepe Gancedo's distinctive design philosophy. The course stretches across undulating terrain, where generous fairways and uniquely crafted greens create an experience that's both challenging and playable for all skill levels.
Gancedo's artistic touch appears in each green's individual character. The 7th hole features a vast, square putting surface that mirrors an English bowls green, while the 14th dips dramatically like a Chinese wok, demanding precise approach play. These architectural elements, combined with sweeping views of the surrounding landscape, have established La Finca among Spain's premier courses.
The course's pedigree is evident in its tournament history, having hosted the Junior European Championship, Spanish Junior Championship, and amateur events like the Audi Class and Quattro circuits. Professional golfers have tested their skills here during EPD Tour qualifying rounds and the Valencian Community circuit.
The clubhouse, positioned beside the 18th hole, offers a 250-square-meter terrace where players can unwind while taking in panoramic views. The restaurant has earned a reputation for serving the Costa Blanca's finest burger, alongside a menu featuring fresh salads, pizzas, and sandwiches.
Comprehensive facilities include:
A fully-equipped pro shop
Manual and electric cart rentals
Golf buggy service with on-course refreshment cart
Club rentals
Dedicated bag drop area
Modern changing facilities
Professional caddy master service
We provide convenient minibus transfers with equipment transport, making the hour-long journey from our accommodation a seamless part of your golfing experience.

The integration of the golf course with its Mediterranean setting creates a harmonious playing environment where sport and nature complement each other perfectly. Club De Golf Bonalba
Distance from La Buena Vida: 60 mins
Bonalba Golf Course embraces the Mediterranean coastline in Mutxamel, Alicante, where an 18°C average temperature and proximity to San Juan Beach (just 2 km away) create ideal golfing conditions year-round. Ramón Espinosa's design weaves through mature trees, around five strategic lakes that come into play on seven holes, and challenges players with meticulously placed bunkers that demand thoughtful tee shots.
The course reveals its character in two distinct acts. The front nine tests finesse and short-game precision, with greens that reward tactical approach play. From the 12th hole onward, the course opens up, calling for confident drives across more expansive terrain. The fairways, generous in width, feature Bermuda grass overseeded with Rye-Grass for winter play, while PenCross Bentgrass greens and SeaSide grass approach areas provide consistent putting surfaces suited to the local climate.
The practice facilities, while compact, offer focused training opportunities. A 150-meter driving range with 15 bays serves beginners and those looking to warm up their short to mid-range shots (note that drivers, woods, and hybrids are not permitted due to the range's length). The facility includes two putting greens, a dedicated approach area, and a practice bunker—ideal for honing the precise short game demanded by the front nine.
Getting to Bonalba is effortless with our comprehensive transport service. We provide door-to-door minibus transfers with a dedicated equipment trailer for the one-hour journey, ensuring a hassle-free start to your day on this engaging Mediterranean course.
